This seems like potentially the wrong approach to courtship.
Never try to be more important than the cat in a relationship. Not only will you be fighting for attention with a cat—you will lose. The cat is far cuter than you, the cat is allowed to play dirtier than you, the cat has spent 10,000 years evolving to wedge itself in every crack in our squishy human hearts' defenses. It is not an enemy you are prepared to face. Your only viable option is surrender.
