You’re talking like Hebikawa is doing all this because she genuinely likes Keisuke, not because she’s trying to validate her worldview by forcing Kusunoki to reveal a darker side. Sure, she’s catching feelings for him along the way, but that doesn’t change the fact that she’s acting with outright malicious intent. Either way, Hebikawa’s not going to “win” this. We all know that.

he also obviously knows she is not acting without intent now but that's why there's development which would be well deserved

genuinely shocked at how many people are rooting for hebikawa. you do know she's still a point of trauma for him, right? like it was over for the snek bros from the get go. say what you will about kusunoki, at least she's had a positive relationship with him thus far. it was only recently shizuki was vomiting from just being near her. if anything, her aggressive tactics will work against her. only way i can see her legitimately entering the race is by being actually interested in him. like he doesn't like her and she doesn't like him, how can you even remotely pretend that's a feasible romance

People get tired of the same story being told over and over again. Hebikawa is also the only original thing in this story and is expected to get development so it’s honestly not that surprising.

Hebikawa didnt want to force a kiss she wasn't ready for so she didnt go for it
while Kusonoki just gets a free kiss with no build up or free choice of her own
Just kinda feels unnatural

Kusunoki will definitely freak out and run away from this. Plus we still get to see Otobe's reaction when she inevitably finds out.

He visited Kusunoki and got semi-flashed, and he went out of his way to buy a cake for Hebikawa when she was stranded on her birthday.
