At this point I'd rather we just get Haruno as our MC or something. Keisuke looked surprised and all that she called him her friend, but like, what else could he possibly be? He's constantly pushing her away and lying about why whenever she tries to get closer, so he can't even be surprised that their relationship is stagnant. How many more arcs of Keisuke pushing Kusonoki away do we need before the author realizes they've made a dynamic that just can't progress without some major changes?

She probably didn’t mean to friendzone him with that and just wanted to make him feel better and let him know he is important to her. Sure she may not know exactly how she feels about him currently, but she definitely thinks he is important to her so that’s a good thing.

Of course his perception is that he is friendzoned, but like, I don’t see why he would think she would say anything other than that right now? Finding out that she thinks you are an important friend is a good thing….meaning she isn’t just going to tell you to go away.

Anyways, I imagine either the tomboy or Hebikawa will start to make legit moves and Kusunoki will start to think about how she feels, get jealous, and then go on some sort of offensive.

Kusunoki hasn't sorted her feelings on MC (we all know she will catch feelings, just a matter of when) and has just started working on making friends so she probably hasn't even considered romantic relationships

they are not that far ahead of the TL, only like 6 chapters. and the chapters are mainly about Hebikawa's past and her current family (i think). as well as some school festival. pretty sure Hebikawa asks her what she feels about him and she denies it being romantic feelings
