Trying to keep something hidden from her is more about when she discovers it rather than if.

Here, both manga versions are pretty much the same. But there are small differences between them. In the first version, Maomao whispers in Dr. Quack’s ear so he can ask the questions (sticking closer to how it’s described in the LN). In this new version, Maomao asks more questions directly to the head lady-in-waiting. I think the first version did this part better. However, this new version has an extra scene showing the sick girl’s friend being worried about her, which isn’t even in the LN, and I thought that made this version of the manga better.
