I think I'm one of the few who prefer the art of this manga over the other version. I like the characters with this more mature look.

I agree, it's extremely refeshing to see especially anime women who look their age and I think it's even more important for this story to get that right. Kurata's expressions and character acting are also top notch and I greatly prefer the overall tone, pacing, and page compositions of this one as well. It's extremely disappointing to me how many people are quick to dissmiss it.
