It said 'slavery bad when sold to other countries that don't respect our laws', that's a bit different. Functionally, they still have slaves, they just became inner palace servants and eunuchs instead.

Can't suddenly tell one of your dukes that his family business is now evil and you don't care if it means his region will starve. You gotta offer another way for them to make their money back on their current stock while also giving them another business to take care of.

Nope, vymanga only has this manga up to chapter 42. It has two versions of the other manga which both are translated up to chapter 80.

Can someone, literally fucking anyone, please translate chapters 60-65 already? I swear I'm almost at the point of paying some shitty MTL scanlator to do it just to see this chapter gap fixed.

That said, if you skip one and a half volumes ahead and translate 3 more volumes after that, I think being impatient is the expected outcome. Especially now that the anime has already reached the gap, and as your initial message about this back in february was "we intend to finish the chapters this year" which gives the impression that it might take three quarters of a year until you get around to it.

We said we'll be backtracking once we catch up to the tank raws back in February. That plan has never changed. We're only five months into year, so three quarters of the year is still a good rate considering that we're releasing a monthly manga on a weekly basis. There are two more chapters after this volume until we reach the end of the LN4 territory but since we'll prioritise filling in the gap, the anime will be overtaking us regardless.

Also, I agree to getting the missing chapters on mangadex.
There should be a rule against skipping chapters.

To be fair, most stories that show slavery as not a always morally wrong thing tend to downplay the worst examples of this throughout human history, the main reason japanese stuff tends to be especially bad about this is from my understanding, japan never had the kind of slavery we're aware of, it was more closer to serfdom.

Its to portray different perspective

The slavery in og nation is mostly "debt slaves", they are given work with miniscule pay but if they gather enough, they could buy their own freedom.

It looks abit "nice" except in practice, debt slave is often done like, the parents owned alot of debt and then they sold their kids to pay the debt.

Or like maomao, slaver kidnap people, sold it and takes portion of the slaves earning as they pretend to be family or legal guardian.
