@Squidco42 Hmmm, to me it is odd. Like I get that you don't get along but they seem to be at least be on speaking terms. If it has been a year or two it is fine but 10 years is a lot to have not even once met your girlfriend/boyfriend there parents. If you never talk to your parents and don't care then it is pretty normal to not do it. Like you said why bother. But this is not the case here. Tho this is only my opinion on it.

It is weird, but once you've seen people do it IRL and hear the reasoning behind it from some people, it kinda just makes a bit more sense. I just have that experience, so it's not weird in my eyes. From what I can gather, Ritsuko treated her family like people would treat a co-worker or an acquaintance. On good terms, but keep it strictly on a need to know basis.

I still wonder though how bad it was when she first moved out. It must have been pretty bad the first year or 2 where she probably just didn't even talk to family. We see now that she has matured to the point that she is willing to patch things up with her dad and even introducing Nonoyama to him.
But I feel that's the beauty of leaving things a bit vague. It lets the reader's mind wander and imagine, craft their own stories in their head about the main story.

No, I meant it was weird in this context of the story. Like I know people in RL that have the same thing but they are not on speaking terms anymore or something like that. Like I get it but feels like they are doing alright now so why not introduce him now. I can see it would be a lot worse at the start but now it feels a bit weird to me. The main problem this did not look like they just made up recently or something. It has been a while that things are going alright but it can be true that our FML is not ready to introduce him at the moment.
