A better metaphor would be “imagine you work in a bakery with 100 shelves to stock [that’s the hard drive] and 20 bakers [the CPUs/cores] but there’s only 1 oven for all the bakers to share [RAM = actual workspace for programs to execute in], what would you change to increase production?” “Obviously, add more ovens for things to bake in.”
