She hasn't stolen anything. He gave her the card of his own free will and anyway, she just said she hasn't spent the money and won't spend the money as Satou does not want her to. She also clearly said that she didn't hear him when he mentioned this "deal." Lastly, even if she did hear him, she is free to change her mind and reject the engagement. I'm not sure what you're actually arguing--that in the modern day a person isn't allowed to say no to an engagement? That she's forced to marry him because he says so? What are you so fussed about that you'd make multiple comments about it and even respond to me in a month old thread about it? It's becoming a bit odd.

the mindset of the comments is more so what I care about, I couldn't remember if she actually spent money yet but these comments are entirely about her being able to say no no matter what, so if she didn't spend money then cool, she can back out if she wants and has returned the card... but she still has his card in her possession, which is still a huge point of control he has over her in an objective sense

Also, it's pretty worrying to see the amount of people who STILL don't understand that this is a (hilarious) COMEDY manga and that the whole "you can't call off the engagement now!" is just a gimmick to make Makino bring back some old characters for more hilarity (I can't wait to see her half-heartedly try to play matchmaker for Mr. ATM).

With that said, my review of this chapter is simply: I love this freaking manga lol.

Well for whatever reason she seems to think she has to do this thing to get him off her. She'll likely let the new girl know of the situation. I'm guessing it'll basically be a meet and greet, and the guy will be upfront. He was upfront before, Makino just got too excited, thinking about what she'd do for Satou, so she didn't hear him. This new girl will likely not have that issue. In reality she of course should just tell him to fuck off, hand him back the card and be on her way but that's not how it's going down for drama and comedy's sake.

Truthfully, given that Rina has money and is, as far as we know, only into girls, it's more likely that Makino will try to push him onto her friend or the other girl from the school. But it would be really really funny if she tried.
