Given the high score this manga has, I assume this premise serves a way for the two to hang out with eachother and gradually cone to love each other without having to be awkward about it. I'd like to know more about Yuuki or Aida in the future, both of them as of now are really blank slates in terms of character

isnt that like the entire trope of this manga? her geeking at childhood friends and him who nod along since she is cute.

getting tired of this trope are the same as you are tired at cooking in a cooking manga or baseball at sport manga. I dont think they will stop this trope in near future.

I wrote this just two chapters in, I can't know how things develop with just this. I've read stories which lead to genuine romance and others which don't. I don't know which kind of direction this story will take yet but I would much prefer the first direction, preferably with 50 chapters

The entire point is that it's not natural. There's 1000s of other real childhood friend romances if you want natural

I mean... they're middle-schoolers (?) and she apologized. Yeah, she's being a little selfish, but it's not as if either of them seem unhappy with what they have going on.

I also disagree that the premise is getting tiring, the premise is the driver of the plot. The roleplay forces the characters into unearned moments of intimacy, which in turn leads to vulnerability and REAL intimacy. I really really like the structure.

I do agree that more characterization of the leads would be good, hopefully that gets worked in as the series continues.
