Yeah, the whole time while they were planning ahead I was thinking if they really forgot about the fact that she's only supposed to be here temporarily.

This chapter's whole setup was quite transparent because we already knew her stay is supposed to be temporary and we even knew why she moved (temporarily) to this apartment. It wasn't because her previous one was was destroyed by an earthquake, it was just water damage. It won't take years to fix.

All that being said, she just needs to move permanently. Just tell the agent that the old apartment doesn't have a balcony and she can't live without one anymore. Anyone who has lived in an apartment with a balcony knows the huge difference it makes. It's a perfectly valid and believable reason.
