Kết đẹp,nhưng đáng tiếc là hơi quá nhanh,mà cũng không có extra,buồn cho một câu chuyện khá hay

Don't waste your time. The seinen tag is misleading, it's not that mature.

Telework Yotabanashi gaps this manga.
It also reminds me of Monthly in the Garden with My Landlord (Yuri romcom), but Monthly is also significantly better.

Yet one more in the “I Just Like It™” category. I can't put it down and I have no idea why. The gorgeous art does seem to help, though.

I have re-read the raws a couple times. I highly recommend this.

It’s sweet, although you’d have your typical cliche mannerisms in an innocent teen romance story.

The ending however, felt kind of short. Like a “means to an end,” type of conclusion. Do you want this story to be linear, just wholesome? Or do you want to add some drama? Because it builds up the elements, then actually gets resolved super fast, in less than a chapter.

That’s why, when it went that way towards the ending, it just felt sweet, then “kinda convenient,” then, “ouh possible short about to happen?” Then finally, “Welp nevermind. ‘happily ever after.’” Literally.

Almost as if it was axed. But that can’t be, right? I thought it was good.

Anyways, I feel like this work deserves more recognition. Like some mangas that people prioritise are literally trash isekai yet we get slow updates for some good ones. I have had scavenged around in Japanese sites and there are a few promising ones that aren’t translated.

OK, I have to amend my previous statement: For all that I adore this manga… the more I see the phrase “neighbour-san” the more it makes my eyes bleed. I'd have preferred something “mr/ms Neighbour”, or even “otonari-san”, over this.

Don't know why it's rubs me the wrong way so much.

Love this manga, just hope later on they aren't like "Ahh but because she's an actor she can't have relationships!" laziest plot of all time sorta thing.

This manga has been affected by the May 2025 DMCA takedown. All chapters will eventually disappear. Heed this warning, yo ho and a bottle of rum.

I think author overplayed the hand with stretching this romance. How so?
The abrupt confession during chapter 79 and as stated by some users luke-warm ending.
Author was a fool who thought that by stretching they could be the infamous Rent a girlfriend (400 chapters of idiocy) but they forgot that it was initially made for cucks/masochists and was quite open about it.

I stopped reading at chapter 39 and waited and now after reading up to chapter 82, i get the feeling that after chapter 76-78 editor told them to wrap it up due to sells going under. Basically volume 5 and 6 were useless without any progress and were stalling.

Even the basic premise is idiotic. Maybe some western audience is ignorant and mix idols with actresses but Japanese public isn't.
Idols do indeed have bans (by the way illegal now if i'm not mistaken) though socially only and idols do this mostly to earn money since idols usually retire at around age 24-27. Even so, it's not rare for them to have partners but they are very subtle about that.

If we are speaking about actresses they in vast majority of cases don't have any bans like that. Reason? Their target audience is different and target audience expects good acting and good physical features. Whilst Idols are well like IDOLS, not to be touched and made a fantasy for cummer fans.

Author overplayed their hand and got the axe. It was painfully obvious that author sold 2 volumes of complete slop to stall the progress and earn the money. You just don't do this, have some respect and end it early and leave a good reputation as an author (other titles and volumes will sale because of that reputation).

Regardless of my personal disagreement, permit me to remind you that unmarked spoilers are not allowed in central series threads.

Yeah didn't mean to spoil. I try to be conscious of it but i'm in a camp of totally not caring so in a fit of writing something this slips out.
As for disagreement i would be interested in reading your disagreement...since there are a few points that you can disagree with (if not all)

Oh so it really got axed? I didn't want to admit it at first but the manga is starting to feel like it is getting stretched than it needed to be.

Of all the places I expect them to express their feelings for each other - I always pictured them to do this at their veranda with proper settings and mood atleast considering the name of the manga and it's their special little tiny world where the two them bonded and get to know each other well in the first place. I never would've expected whatever it is that happened on Chapter 78. Not only was it abrupt, it was... bland and unromantic I guess? I don't know how to word it well. But hey I understand if people disagree with this, but it's just how I feel about the confession. It didn't land right for me.

Also I just read the latest Ch.82 to 84 - The manager being drunk in the restaurant at the end Chapter 82 and then at Chapter 84 made an announcement that she's pregnant and the father is the restaurant guy due to her being drunk that time was SUPER abrupt lmao. It's clear that the author is trying to wrap things up and give everyone a good ending ASAP because we're getting axed as heck.

I feel the same. Most likely author had an initial roadmap but it was derailed because editor told him to make more volumes.
But due to that author INSERTED 2 volumes of nonsense and 0 progress + artificial progress blockers with artificial drama.

It's sad that JP novels and manga suffer from this, they make an interesting premise if they get popular instead of trying to end their story gracefully they tend to panic insert story elements until that house of cards falls and their editor tells them it's time to axe their story and they are given a volume or a few chapters to wrap their story.

Calls her neighbour-san all the way to chapter 88, and as spoiled by the title of the chapters it just ends with a scandal that was expected to happen since chapter 20. 90 chapters for this is just sad... I had paused this at chapter 25 with high expectations

I just want to clear up that "seinen", "shoujo" or "shounen" aren't genres, they are demographic descriptors. The main determinant if a series is a seinen is the magazine in which it is published. For example: K-on is seinen, while Death Note is shounen because the former was published in Manga Time Kirara while the latter in the Weekly Shounen Jump. The tag itself doesn't inherently says anything about the work other than the target audience.

This manga is a real gem. My only real complaint is that the ending feels a bit rushed, which is a shame given how well the story builds up before that. Still, it remains a very strong read overall.

The tone is calm and atmospheric rather than driven by heavy, overused drama tropes, which I appreciated a lot. It leans more toward a slice of life vibe, focusing on small moments and quiet emotions instead of big conflicts.

That said, the storytelling feels somewhat unbalanced. The narrative is clearly more centered on the male perspective, and I would’ve liked to see more insight from the other side to round things out. Also, despite the title’s focus on the veranda, the setting felt a bit underutilized. There was room to explore it more creatively I guess.

Even with these shortcomings, it’s a very solid manga.

Rating: 8ish/10.
