This was quite a wild ride, though ultimately a disappointing one. While the concept itself is very interesting, the ending feels "meh"—clearly rushed because the series got axed.
The initial premise is strong, but the story spends way too much time laying the groundwork only to have it lead nowhere. There are also too many unnecessary characters and subplots that don't actually move the story forward. It’s obvious the author originally intended this to be a sci-fi horror with extraterrestrial elements inspired by The Thing; however, when that didn't seem to work, they retooled it into a "hated titan becomes a titan" action trope. Because of that mid-series shift and the rushed conclusion, the final product just doesn't land.

It was such a shame to see. This one started out very strong and ended with an and-then-everyone-died ending. Somehow Higanshima and that rape island series managed to last more than 100s of chapters while some series like this just die prematurely.
