And if the implication is that vampires age more slowly than humans then the whole "adapting to human society as high schoolers" thing kind of falls apart since they'd be "teenagers" for a lot longer. Her personality may have changed to match Santa's age. Also could be like adults who survived trauma as children. They had to grow up early so as they get older and in a safer enviorment they are able to act like they are in the childhood they missed.
