She mentioned last chapter already that he has a constitution that makes it impossible to use magic. And in this chapter the MC mentioned that she's matching his fighting style not that she knows how he fights.

I really doubt that the backstory is an edit since Japanese authors seldom care what we think especially since we read scanlations. And this kind of thing rarely bothers Japanese readers. And people saying she should of investigate if she thought he was dead, she was 7 years old. How in the world is she suppose to do anything at that age?

she should have investigated that maybe he's just some guy with the same name and she KNEW he cant do magic so by logic he shouldn't be the same kid that died when they were kids.

2) She had him investigated after that meeting. She then proceeds to get closer to him to confirm it herself. That's why she went hostile mode after noticing that something was wrong with "HER" Takeru.
3) It actually makes sense though. Execution of the story at this part feels rushed is what it is.

Story really tries to paint a picture of camaraderie/pairing bait with that last panel isn't it. But it doesn't work because it is too sudden and not earned as well as her introduction made her highly unlikeable.

When attacker girl investigates, she will find that the Takeru of 40 years ago didn’t actually disappear or die, he’s still alive — and it will turn out that it’s “her” Takeru, except that he’s now in his late 50s. Past Takeru had magic but couldn’t cope with physical bullying, Future Takeru had no magic and couldn’t deal with magical bullying, so some force everyone is unaware of decided to swap the two; the isekai thing was either training for the MC so he could use his magic once he got there, or else was an unplanned side trip.
