I think some people still regard lesbian sex as "less serious" than gay or straight sex. I don't know how much that changed, but I remember some surveys from 10-15 years ago suggesting heterosexual men reacted less negatively to female same-sex cheating, to the point some of them did not consider it "really cheating". That is a recurring pattern, at least in western culture.
