While I agree with what many has pointed out (the whole slow pace of just her going around doing next to nothing), the whole fucking title is there: LADY BABY, I repeat, LADY BABY, if you want to not dilly-dally on the fucking child growing up, choose a manhwa that doesn’t have a BABY on the fucking title itself. It’s literally in the title for you to expect that the main character will start at being a newborn and slowly grow up, the long chapter list of slow progression is just, in my opinion, the result of misplaced chapter cuts and things that can’t be reduced but weren’t because of semi-bad writing and poor decisions.
So let’s talk about writing, and this manhwa is okay-ish on that. Slow-burn and better of going back once every year to check up progress, I expected that from just 30+ chapters and her still being below 5. That’s why it’s okay-ish. People who won’t immediately understand why this progression is slow, and it doesn’t help when the characters are 2d at best and lacks proper fleshing out. But it’s slightly compensated by the uniform artstyle and above average quality (sad that we can’t hear music through image alone without the author putting in a music sheet which would inherently plummet the quality of the manhwa, or else I would enjoy her singing more).
But let’s get over that shit and go to the story, which is very good as a concept and is being executed normally (not beautiful, just normal). I can understand why age progression is slow as it is being said throughout the story the peaks of the noble society, when you’re young (1-5), you’ll explore being with your family, in close associates and just a small circle of friends. At 7 you’ll venture out to socialisation until you react age 12 where the prospect of marriage would need to be entertained and by 15 establishing yourself to high society (through debut) and looking for marriage partners (don’t be weirded out, that’s normal in that time period, or at least for convenience sake of the author as they mimic parts of medieval nobility). Why I consider it normal and not beautiful is the short amount of content on each chapter that leads to a slow pace of the manhwa, and multiple readers complaining why at 150+ chapters is she still underage. Again, understandable, but expected.
