@Seracila Because he's a prince and she wants to avoid noble drama. In fact by birth order he has a claim to the throne, he's just not a legitimate child. What happens if the younger brother is a bad king? Or gets killed? He would be the next in line, dragging her up the line as queen, which is exactly what she doesn't want. Not to mention the animosity she would get from the other nobles for going for the older brother after getting dumped by the younger, and everyone would think she was up to something since as far as they know, she has motives for revenge.
