There is a movie that has some very similar aspects to this story. Would have to look it up to remember the name, but in it, the girl was a student who was seeing a young wealthy Chinese guy.

To Hounder : If i'm not wrong, the movie you're talking about is also called "L'Amant" based on the story of Marguerite Duras.

Reading this manga it's like watching the movie. So beautiful...can't wait for the next chapters...😌
