On the inverse: how much is it luck he didn't kill his opposition without prejudice? We can see at one point Mikado knowing that Houzan had the upper hand and could have killed him at the time. That was a realistic projection of events that Houzan was in the driver's seat of controlling. Houzan was toying with his opponents, not the other way around.
