Seeing Cinnabar must have come as a shock, considering old Phos's goal was to give them a sense of purpose (a job) and now... Cinnabar has that, and is teamed with Bortz, while Phos is out there at the moon, getting farther and farther away from everyone. Oof.

I know what can be said about the parallels to Buddhism in this manga has been said already, by all the wonderful comments on here, but still...
The trials and suffering that Phos has been through are, in many ways, similar to that of Xuanzhang's in Journey to the West.
It hurts so much to see him like this, drowning in despair yet kept afloat with just that tiny bit of warmth left from his infant days. Even when humans are split into three separate parts, the fact that each still retains emotions and flaws and consciousness is a curse in and of itself.

What was the sense of "authentication" here in japanese? Is it the authentication (identification) that precedes actual authorization or something more vague?

(info from other comments) - damn its crazy so the authentication process happening alas could be because only humans can start admanat up - and phos is a gem, admirabilis (legs) and lunarian (eye) (flesh, bone and spirit) so she meets the requiremnt. But idkl why sensei stopped i dont feel like its actually because he is broken
