It's nice to have one of these where they don't have MC hiding their power or having some caveat that makes them weak. Sure, it can be hard to write an interesting story like that when there is basically no struggle for MC, but it can be done well (usually as comedy or sth)

Hm, is there a need for longstrip other than trying to copy a trend?

The author may prefer it? As many readers do. Non long strip is fine, and better for printed pages, but long strip has many nice aspects, like being easier for most people to read (especially those unused to manga), and being legible on smart phones without having to zoom in. For a purely internet series, it's probably the best format.
