I'd definitely disagree there. Just go back to chapter 77 of this manga, the first one posted here, merely 3 months ago. You get narration from changing points of view, some phrases that just sound bad in english (granted, I'm not a native speaker myself, so I'm sure I can often be criticized in that regard as well), some things not making sense, names changing within the same panel and I've only gone up to page 8.

Yeah, he's not very convincing with his "dungeon item" explanation, but she's reasonable about it.
Yeah, way back when, they did say the reason his rank-up was limited was because he needed not only power, but also the knowledge and experience to work in teams, in particular with nobles. Working on a quest with a noble certainly qualifies for the latter.
She's a bit of a character, and good at balancing him out.
