Yeah, brainwashing is just not something which can be done in an MMO, at least not like this.

Unless the headset directly links your brain to the game like SaO or a bunch of other futuristic VR games.
At that point you can do literally anything to a person if the hardware is good enough.
But hey, its fantasy so i would say its an acceptable suspension of disbelief.
