Hello friends, Ziou here, you may have read my name, I am TS at Project Time and sometimes also active as CLRD, currently helping our rookies with the TS .
Our former translator Chips, who translated Legend for years, retired a few months ago. Chips helped us with Legend for a long time and was the only translator we had for Legend, he made an incredible contribution and delivered really good translations, but everything that has a beginning has an end.
Chapter 84 was the last chapter translated by Chips. After he left we thought for a long time if we wanted to continue working on Legend at all, but after a long consideration we decided to continue, also because of the support you have shown us that you are willing to read our translations. We therefore started looking for new translators. In the end we actually managed to recruit 4 new translators. None of them has ever read a single chapter of Legend, so as you can imagine it's not that easy to get it right with all the names etc. and because we have 4 different people working on the translations the quality is also a little bit different from chapter to chapter because everyone has their own style of translating.
You may be asking yourself: „why the fuck are you doing this then, why are you having so many different translators working on something, and people who have never had anything to do with legend”?
The question can be answered very simply: we want to catch up with legend.
We don't want to be chasing Legend for another 5 years, we want to finally catch up and start something new. But that won't work if we keep doing what we did before, having only one translator, always the same typesetter, always the same person doing the proofreading, taking over a month for a chapter. It is not so easy to get new people, especially people who are willing to even try to follow our standards, or have the necessary skills, or are willing to learn, we have to make the best of what we have. I don't want to start explaining to you how hard it is to find someone who is willing to translate or typeset something without asking for money. We have a lot of people who are just interested in working together in a team, doing scanilation casually as a hobby without the intention of making a profit and not necessarily working on Legend because they like the manga so much.
We always strive to maintain a high standard of quality, we choose the best raws, we have everything translated by someone personally, we don't use MTL, we translate SFX and TS them, we put a lot of effort into it. Nevertheless, it is normal that we lose some of the quality because we have a lot of rookies working on Legend from now on, we still try to do the best we can, but with what we have. Despite our desire to eventually catch up with Legend, we don't want to forget the reason why we do it and that is to have fun. It may seem like we are a big group, but we are not, we are just a few members, most of us are not even that familiar with the scanilation scene.
Everything I just wrote may be fine and dandy, of course that doesn't excuse chapter 86. We take your criticism, we pretty much screwed up there, especially with the names, when I was reading Seth this morning I almost started laughing.
Of course, this shouldn't have happened and we should have noticed it, but somehow it got through, probably also because our Ryuujin, who is usually the Legend QC, had a lot to do this week and therefore couldn't take a look at 86. We have now changed 86, in my opinion everything should fit now, If not please let us know on Discord.
Please refrain from comparing our translations with manhwafreaks, no matter who translates the chapter in our group does a 10x better job than whoever or which program at manhwafreaks does the translations and if you disagree you are welcome to read the version of manhwafreaks, which is now also on Mangadex. And if you think that this chapter is “badly” translated, then you have too high standards, because it is not bad.
TLTR: Be patient with us, we are trying our best.
