Les Mis was not a story that I particularly liked. I felt that it was over hyped and the renditions I have watched or listened to did not resonate with me. That being said, I feel differently after reading this manga adaptation. The art style, addition of the lion inner persona, and the way the confliction that Jean ValJean feels with his criminal status really drives home who and what ValJean is. I would highly recommend this interpretation.

One of the first longer novels I read after I learned to read. A great piece of literature.

The story and art quality was so great that I bought the whole 8 volumes (in FR) on Amazon kindle at $10 per volume. Totally worth it! Binged thought all the volumes in a single night!
