My thought process is cry is basically a temu batman with the amount of magic items he has sitting around. Just needs prep time to get them charged, mental health, etc. There's that and in order to rank up test were required, I imagine he was no exception so he had to have done something related to what you mentioned to get up. (haven't read LN so don't know if they explained how yet)

the way i'm thinking. he has great luck plus some kind of clairvoyance, that he isn't knowledgeable yet and only uses subconsciously. which influences his actions a bit. along side his talents related to relics.
