Did he just sacrifice Bahamut? If he can just resummon a dead minion, then there wasn't any threat to Gabriel and Louise Belcher Tsukuyomi. If the threat against them was real, then Bahamut is dead for no other reason than the MC trying to pull some stupid trick.
