Y'all be salty at the MC being an idiot, when this cliffhanger is pretty much Chekov's gun being fired.
Tina has said the she secretly kept strengthening the targets MC was using every time, so from his perspective he has barely made any progress beyond slightly chipping the target that for him was the same as always.

For those that missed it the first time... here is a re-posting of my thoughts on a possible explanation for how 'MAYBE' a dumb MC could come to the conclusion that this power is weak.

Ahem:

"While I can't say if this was what the author was thinking.... I can play devils advocate and propose a way an idiot with this kind of ability MIGHT still somehow think he was weak....

[Damage Resistance]

If you've never heard those words before.... just follow along with this RPG inspired explanation.

Say we have a target with [Damage Resistance 10] (DR10), and just to give it a number lets say it has 100HP. The DR10 means that any individual attack will have its Damage reduced by 10 before it can chip away at that precious HP. If we assume the average punch does 2 damage, then it doesn't matter how many times we punch it cause any single attack has to do 11 damage or more before DR to reduce the Target's HP. (2 Damage - 10DR = 0 HP Lost. 15 Damage - 10DR = 5 HP Lost)

Now lets assume our our basic [Fire] does about 3 damage. Even if we can infinitely cast [Fire] it doesn't matter, since [Fire] can't deal any damage to the target.

If our idio-

If our protagonist came to the conclusion that layering thousands of [Fire] spells only meant the Target would get hit with all of those individual attacks at once, then DR would still dictate each of those attacks gets reduced to 0 for a total of 0 damage.

"Even if I hit it with [Fire] 10,000 times in a single second, it won't even leave a mark!" Again, yeah, if each of those [Fire] spells does their damage separately then this thought would be sensible.

.....But everyone's reaction in the chapter should key us (the readers) in on the fact that layering isn't ONLY making a lot of tiny spells hit all once...... it is effectively making ONE BIG SPELL.

So instead of doing [3 - 10DR = 0] * 10,000 Damage (0 Damage)....... hes actually doing [3 * 10,000 ] - 10DR Damage (29,990 Damage)


Bakato-kun here really should have done a better job of testing how layering his magic worked....


But ultimately this is more likely just poor writing instead of being a play on misunderstanding how his damage was getting calculated."

Well his classmates just destroyed the target that he wasn't able to destroy so of course he would think that he is weak after all of that. (He probably used so much of that layering and only dented it).
There is so much complain. Here is an advice. Just fill in the gaps yourself. Use your imagination and shit like that.

Moraza's explanation about damage reduction would be the case if the MC had actually explained his reasoning, boi just has really low or doesn't even have self-confidence since he never had anyone else to compare, not only that, his training method SEEMED to be the exact same as time went on because Tina didn't tell him shit about strengthening the dummies. And then there's the fact that he also didn't tell her about the fixed stat thing, but then again, it is kinda scary telling someone who has high expectations that you can't get stronger.

tl;dr mc just nutted hardcore just to look cool because he has monkey brain.
8/10 would read more because I hate cliffhangers

How in the actual hell has he not noticed how powerful his compund spells are? Hell, back in chapter 3 they showed a crystal that was more damaged than what the archer girl managed. Even if Tina started overcompensating and gave him her strongest targets that showed no damage, there would still be huge explosions from that kind of magic that would give him a clue.

Rapid casting and magic stacking. If you have any access to any lvl1 spell that costs 10 mp and you can stack it, it dosent matter if it's a basic spell. Stack it a hundred thousand times and it has the same force of a rank 7 or 8 spell
