@RandomnessOfTheMathWorld Sure, that could be possible and a far better counter-argument than just saying they have good quality chainsaws (lol).

I've already dropped this series so I don't know, but do they ever confirm the monsters use mana? If so, then a dead monster losing some of it's defense is a reasonable assumption.

Honestly the chainsaw cutting the monster wasn't really my complaint at all though, it was mostly the idea that random kid with a chainsaw hacking at a fantasy monster would get such a high "dismantling" rating that I found unreasonable, and not from a crude human standard, but a rating from an unquestionably accurate source (e.g. The system). The toughness of the creature would only make this problem worse, since the tool in use was already rather weak in the finesse department.

goddamit author build your world better and don't assume everyone already knows it.
I know that the rule "show don't tell" is important but it needs proper explanation too

Ah yes, the old hospitalized family member, and because of the treatment expenses, I have to do a dangerous/underpaid job regarding monster hunting -trope

It's not bothering me even as half as much as the fact, that this guy seems to be a bit of a pushover/doormat, which is one of the worst traits a protagonist can have, smh.

$370.00USD. A day. And he works a fact job. That’s minimum around $4,000 a month just working ten days a month porter working. He should get half that a month making minimum wage at the factory. That’s $72,000 a year. What’s up with the world here financially that he’d struggle even with hospital bills.
