Thanks for the update honestly if he doesn't cut it off with Tadokoro, if the guy doesn't break off the relationship with Tadokoro, Narita should just break it off and find a better man. I feel so frustrated with the way things are between these three people. Also thanks @Honeypopper that's pretty insightful!

Yup this is so similar to White Album 2.

That said this also feels like Kasane, where until you get someone's side of the story the narration weighs into making them feel in the bad. I didn't expect Ichi to be so madly in love with Narita, so maybe there is hope?

Tadokoro reminds me so much of Setsuna, and that last panel is just like her. Narita might be no Kazusa but Ichi's current affection to Narita is somewhat similar to Haruki & Kazusa.

@Honeypopper thank you finally someone understanding the situation, when you are someone with responsibilty you can't just brush it off the engagement with two big family figure (merger of two big company). So yeah what Ichi needs to do if he wants to be with Narita he has to be brave to opose his father (not many people can do this and it takes a lot of courage).

You're welcome.. just sharing what I've been witnessing on a daily basis by living in Japan for so long. So yeah, in my opinion, in future chapters it's going to be either
Ichi Jr breaks out of his family OR Narita finds a better man/ another job unrelated to either family OR Tadokoro changes
. They are in a gridlock. Haven't read anything else by author, so I don't know if plot twists are a thing for them or not.

Ohhh the explanation gives this story a lot more sense than what I was originally thinking. Also aww man what a shitty thing to teach young women, waiting around for their partners to lose interest in their affairs and come home to them ;o; damn.

reading explanation below, narita is the one that has the most disadvantage ;-;

so they teach women to be obedient as long as their partner come home... its so misogynistic. even though tadokoro maybe manipulative herself and didnt love ichikawa, i still feel bad for her.

wow guys, why being unfair here! I disagree with most of you

if I were to state who's the most at fault here, it would be the girls. First Narita knew he was dating someone and chose to be a cheater. Second is Tadoroko, she knew from the start that he liked someone else, but chose to be the manipulative bi*** she is

Yeah he's a coward, but he tried to do the right thing from the start
