i agreed with the replies that somehow narita still 'the same' as before even though theres time skip, but naritas actually lost her job and she needed one, an old acquintance called ber, did yall think she could turn it down?
also for the male lead: notice that ichikawa probably still the same that dragged her along and not saying his feeling properly.

I agree there's no character dev. but maybe that was the point? or we're still to explore it in the next chapters
