I think the crux of this story is slightly exaggerating the contrast between traditional publishing and web media, which isn't a bad thing  Most of my first draft of this was, in retrospect, already said.

Being queer alone isn't a consistent black mark but at this point Song Li shouldn't have a shot at top awards for years. For a fair shot she needs to be the stand-out favorite with an overall clean image. Anything non-grassroots anti-fans can cause would be long done, other than safety risks.

Beyond that it's stricter than I've expected in the 2020s. Song Li is quite respected, there's no definitive case against her, and she isn't turning being out into a policy statement. She could lose her marketing contracts but her lifestyle and queer fandom aren't in danger. Unlike her editor, proof of her craftsmanship matters more to her than acclaim, and she could adapt.

The contrast with smaller celebrities and web content is palpable. There are fewer and gentler gatekeepers for Luoluo, Bilibili's in-house baihe team, and increasingly gay AAA gatcha. That's totally believable for me.

Time to sue the security 😐

Why would you let someone in all black, with head, mask and bottle inside the venue 🤨

Makes logically little sense eh..
