I lost any hope for this series to have any semblance of identity.
It's just CSM/Tokyo Ghoul knockoff, without adding anything new/non-mainstream (or making same things but with better quality).
I can't see it as anything else than combining two most popular seinen titles for easy buck.

Chainsaw Man:
  • MC merging with his dying friend/friends to gain superpowers
  • MC losing control and becomes the strongest Monster in the franchise
  • MC wants an average life (eating burgers etc.)
  • Change MC's hair color and I'd be fooled it's Denji (blander version tho)
  • A lot of characters wearing suits (in both cases allied "demon" hunters)
  • A lot of strong female characters (rarity to have so many introduced so fast)
  • Makima

Tokyo Ghoul:
  • MC is half monster, half human
  • Demon Hunters use similar weapons to those in "Tokyo Ghoul"
  • Known by demon hunters "succubus" are named in similar manner to "ghouls" from Tokyo Ghoul
  • Artstyle was definitely mostly inspired by Tokyo Ghoul

I have to say, the characters are rather dumb as fuck in this series. "Oh, we got a rather peaceful potential fighter, lets just off him." Like, that is not even a good way to use a disposable pawn.
