I mean, she suddenly gave up to him. Tell him to go ahead and blow up the building! He's new here. He knows nothing of this world. He'll be a criminal because a crushed building will definitely draw attention, and even if he escapes he won't know how to get housing or decent food. But he pointed out that she surrendered surprisingly easily, so I assume it's not an oversight.

At the same time, the compensated dating is incredibly out of the blue. And is she really just talking to herself out loud like that? XD

It's a bit off-putting to me, but the writing has already noticeably improved from the prologue (which implied she just kept providing for this random stranger even as he acted like a jerk!), and the comments say this is pretty good. I'll keep reading.
