It's hard to figure out what the original sentence was or how it was cut off, because neither "Death" nor "Disaster" would normally be the final word of the sentence in Japanese. Actually, it's more likely to be the first word. Something like "Shi no megami de gozaimasu" for "I am the goddess of death". (In which case the word "Shi" is the one that means "Death".)
