I think most people know it, the manga was still updated in 2020 and still not finished yet
1. The demon king was defeated by 4 grand sage, 3 of them are young and talented genius, mc was an old man age 50-60 years old and was the 4th grand sage(he was the weakest and know the other 3 can destroy him in 1vs1 fight without any effort). He was called the thunder emperor, when the demon king defeated, he found a baby in the demon castle, the mother demon protected her baby and beg mc to save her daughter. MC saved the daughter and raised her till she was age 14-15. She was very talented at magic, later they found out to find a magic affinity on people, people thought mc affinity as thunder emperor should be great, but his affinity on magic was zero, basically he can use magic but his magic growth was ranked E or F, the girl have very high magic affinity and ranked S. MC then become sick and die in his bed , cursing his own talents, and realized the reason why the other 3 grand sage become that powerful not because of they are genius or hard working it is because they are born with great magic affinity. MC then die while his student, the demon girl mourning her death. Later MC reincarnated and meet the goddess, the goddess say mc has done many good deeds and will grant his wish like to become strongest magician when he reincarnate, but mc choose the option where he will still retain his previous past memory when he reincarnate. MC born as the illigimate child of duke , mc regain his memory at age 14 or 15. MC father was scum and he was descendants of thunder emperors, basically mc was mad and sad his descendants turned into scum and corrupt his legacy. His older brother also scum, but his second brother was good person who takes care mc and his mother. Later, the scum duke try to kil the crown prince who still baby, mc and second brother stop it, all the duke family got executed for treason except for mc , his mother and second brother. MC then decided to go to magic academy to see the modern magic , found a demon slave girl, saved her and both now decided to enter magic academy. The demon slave girl say she was related to mc stundent(demon girl mc saved in his first life), but they are long distant relative and she never meet her. MC student now has become principal of the magic academy and mc was proud of it, she also ranked as one of the strongest mage in the world. I feel the reason magic deteriorate in mc present life has relation to the student, because mc cursed his own talent at magic in first life, and i think she try to lower magic to very low level to fulfill mc death wish in first life to make all people same as mc, with low magic affinity.

At first the girl underestimated him , later monster attacked, the girl try to using her modern magic but it is weak and can't even defeat the monster, the man then summon powerful magic like meteor or such and defeated the monster. The girl was surpised and realized he was using ancient magic that has been lost hundred of years ago, modern magic now was limited and people has been trying to learning ancient magic. The man then beg the girl he want to join academy, he also tell the girl he was weak and his ancient magic was old fashioned, modern magic was far more superior and powerful than his magic.
