You have no idea how difficult mahjong is to play. Almost all of it is luck. If you pick wrong stone to throw, you can lose all of your advantage.

Its horrible game. I love it.

I would never play it for money tho. Its not worth it.

@Mrina You give luck to much credit. If you have the skill you can always go for safe hands and pretty consistently win.

That being said playing for money is probably hella stressful and you'd never be on your A game. Plus not going for big hands is super boring and just not fun to play against.
