This arc is when the story really started to break me. Seeing Aiko essentially give up on life and start prostituting herself and letting others harm her just so she can, even if for a brief moment, forget everything else and feel something, anything, only to even in those moments be tormented by her trauma, is so painful to see. And the saddest part about it is how, despite all this, she also feels too scared and powerless to do anything about her issues at home. She's too scared to even kill herself. That sense of complete desperation when there doesn't seem to be any path forward is really beautifully (and painfully) captured in this arc.
