This makes me curious about how being aromantic and/or asexual works here. Is there a difference from being born aroace and cupids just passing you over? If you are like, inherently aroace, are you just condemned to be a cupid for all eternity? Do they get like a draft exemption?
The story hasn't touched on asexuality/aromanticism (and if it does in future, it may not be labeled so directly, as even things like gay, bi, straight, etc. haven't been stated outright). Kanna's explanation in Chapter 7 of a human's preferences and experiences making up the "fuel" that Cupids can light to create the "flames of love" would suggest the possibility that aro/ace people don't have any fuel for the Cupids to light at all. This is a bit of conjecture, though.
As for whether aro/ace people become Cupids, the only rules we've seen for being "eligible" to become a Cupid are 1) you must die an untimely death, 2) you must never have fallen in love before, and 3) you must have regrets over not getting the chance to experience love. So there are plenty of ways for
anyone to unknowingly draft dodge, and if we're talking about the third requirement, it doesn't just extend to aro/ace people but anyone who doesn't really care that much about finding a partner or dating.
