If we go all the way back to chapter 10's cover, we see the same photo without Sae in it at all.

Thank you, I knew we saw the photo before and just couldn't figure out what chapter it was in.
So that's another point in favor, and I think it's effectively confirmed as far as who/what Sae is.
I just wanna know if that figure with the blackened/darkened skin on the ground of (what I assume is) Ena's safehouse at the end of chapter 14, is also Sae.

There's a Twitter post link I saw over on Reddit that has Ena and (now confirmable as) Sae, from September of last year.
And that individual has...well, odd colouring to her. in a way that I think might show up as black tones in a monochromatic printing like this manga.

The fact that the figure has wings that look like they're stripped of feathers/damaged, and appears hunched over once the loop resets, makes me wonder as to exactly what Ena has done to Sae in the time since she resurrected.

I wanna say she was human cause they remembered she existed after she disappeared, and disappearing usually means taking off the human disguise but the mind stuff is a really strong reason to believe even if Ena kinda resisted it.

Cupids only became forgotten when they cancel their human disguise (spread their wings). If Sae was just hiding on the day of the landslide, the classmates would still remember her, including Hasumi who went looking for her.

At the end of this chapter, she had her wing out when Hasumi Ena became a cupid.
And in ch 13.1 (two? days after the landslide), the guy forgot who Hasumi was trying to save, but still remember Hasumi who became a cupid.

So, I think Sae was a cupid from the beginning.

Something I've been considering is the reason for the loop.

We know cupids come back on their birthday, so killing someone on their birthday seems like a neat way to get an instant cupid. But Koharu didn't come back for a few years, so something has to decide when they come back.

So I'm wondering if Sae forced Ena to come back immediately, but something went wrong. Possibly that Ena didn't die immediately in the landslide. 😬 So it could be that there's a timeline where she gets rescued and doesn't become a cupid, with the loop resetting when it gets too late.

Also worth noting that everyone in the class thinks Hasumi's already in hospital, but there's no record of her at the hospital. Which suggests someone made them all think that as a way to make sure they don't go looking for her.

Are you talking about Sae here?
If so, nah, I think she was definitely a Cupid in disguise at the time. She could charm the teacher on page 9, and after she "disappeared", or actually just hid somewhere without undoing her disguise, people could still remember her after her "disappearance".
And if her intention was to lure Ena into the landslide, then trying to make everyone (especially Ena) forget about her presence right there wouldn't make any sense.

Not saying that they're not jerks, but it's pretty clear that the whole class, and the teacher, were under the effects of Sae's Charm.

Their behavior was all manipulated to specifically target Ena. They might not have been like that, were it not for Sae and whatever she's aiming for.

there's a lot of this setting that we're still not hip to--like what happens to all the stuff that cupids interact with, like food and whatnot? They and their weaponry are fully unnoticed by humans--and we also know that even falling from buildings and the like won't kill a cupid (break all their bones sure, but they'll heal fully in short order).

But you're right. Stuff like human weapons, getting dropped into vats of acid--and also what happens if cupids run afoul of their goddess of love.

But even more than that - we see that there's some bureaucracy of sorts, in the dossiers and pigeon messengers, and the fact that Karma is spent on supplies--that all tells me there's an organization to it all, and the fact that there's a system tracking cupids' Karma, means there's a system keeping track of cupids.
If things get "out of hand", there's likely a security/enforcement system as well. Cupids compete over targets/jobs as we can see, but there's likely ROE involved; I just can't imagine it's completely lawless in how everything operates.

So something must have happened that breaks a rule. Whether it was using something on a cupid that breaks a rule, or the incident itself between Sae & Ena that was the transgression, all of this is, I think, could be involving some larger framework that all the cupids operate within.

That or we're gonna get a crazy curveball with the worldbuilding and find out that there's other forces besides the goddess of love in play.
