@Cencourang I think Mogumo wanted a little time to talk with their mom and establish who Tetsu is before bringing him into the conversation. If they'd shown up being like "hey family, I'm back after months away, also here's my boyfriend," Mogumo's Dad might have just slammed the door in their faces. This way let Mogumo have some polite-ish conversation and show off their cooking abilities before getting to the nonbinary conversation. Granted you're probably right that Tetsu will show up at the exact right time, but I don't think its a completely contrived situation (only partially contrived )

I honestly doubt things are going to get fixed.
A lot of people think that a divorce is a bad thing in general but here I don't agree.
Some time has passed and Mogumo's family even without them is completely broken.

In this case it's clear that Mom has issues and she needs help, but the very reason of why she's not getting better is because Dad is damaging everyone's mental health every time they try to pick themselves up.

Get rid of him.
