If you read it like a comedy it's really quite funny, if you read it like it's serious then it's heartwarming while a little worrisome.

@Stephanieisanerd seinen/josei etc. aren't genres, but demographics a manga is meant for, determined by the magazine said manga is published in. This manga is published in a seinen magazine, hence the label.
