I finally catch up to the latest chapter.
BEWARE : a little exposure of the story.
Seriously, this webtoon is amazing. One of the best and successful adaption I have ever meet. Every time I see another webtoon with great popularity, I simply give a passive reaction "Oh, I see." "Yes yes, good." "Ohhh ..." - normal reaction.
Lucia is special. It narrates very well, like a storytelling, it is poetic and beautiful. I'm used to read Harlequin novels, so this is precisely what I feel from words to words. I'm happy to see perspective from both of them very clearly. This is my number one champion who can't even be beaten with Who Made me a Princess no matter how it fascinates me in the same way (noted: it doesn't always have to be full romantic, so no correlation).
I tend to find historical romance still compelling comedy to make readers comfortable with the characters even in serious conflict, but this flows on its own. I also usually ignore typical things, so for the very first time I feel like getting up and shout : here it is!
Vivian and Duke Hugo's conversation when considering a marriage contract is a thoughtful scene.
Not only that, the process scene by scene itself, in general, really neat. Each moment has a meaning and nothing is discarded.
Vivian displays an attractive personality and way of thinking. She is strong but does not insist on not being sad or disappointed if she feels that way. Duke Hugo is a pretty wild person but doesn't belong to the jerk class. He is wise and respectful. AND WHEN HUGO FINALLY FALLS TO HIS KNEES, adfdjgjjgueuh!! ... this is my latest guilty pleasure. Seeing their relationship makes my cheeks feel hot and I can't stop smiling all day. It's pure yet hot.
Lucia is also not forced to think like a fool and plainly accepts Hugo as he is, I mean, because she is fall in love she can't think clearly like that--not at all. It's pure caring. All goodness melted away and Hugo himself fell in her arms. Of all those who take the relationship between people with a great position, with all the innate deficiencies that make it different from one another, Vivian is not a heroine who simply falls to her fate and all bad things happen to her. Yes, if you are tired of seeing protagonists who are too pathetic and always think of being a nuisance to other women, try it. Vivian showed her concern at the right time. Everything feels right and this makes me addicted to see how it goes.
