I'm liking that our MC doesn't try to enforce the friendship trope; instead of forcing an idealized version of Japan logic on the world, he is trying to change the people by helping them see the dream he had in his previous world.
It's not an offensively naive bunch of tripe, but a system that could possibly work (and has a few times on earth, historically; somebody mentioned the Three Kingdoms, iirc)
