I kind of get Machida-kun. Even if you pay attention and stuff in class the grades don't show it at all. And then there's also those quick witted geniuses everywhere

Then again, Machida likes people so learning from people should be the key for him to better grades but.. hmm.
As for myself i discovered i learn best with good source material and on my own pace, or discussing stuff 1 on 1 with a person who gets it. Totally not a learn-in-group type. Machida is probably the same, and since he is slow, the group tempo probably sucks for him too. Also he has loads of stuff to do for the family so his learning time may be cut short.
