It seemed like a really interesting manga. It has a nice artstyle, I like the characters and their backstories and the world is interesting, but I dropped this due to one really big reason, the cringe.

I know I had high hopes for this, perhaps too high, but I'm used to disappointing manga. When I heard that they defeat the enemies with music, I thought it was a translation error. The fact that they defeated their enemies by singing and that they have magical girl transformations, were extremely cringey, and I just couldn't read more.

If you're not turned away by that, I recommend you read it. I'd definitely read it if the fighting or the antagonists actually made any sense.

So far it's the exact same thing as the anime. Panel by panel, word by word. There's nothing new. You should go watch that instead because it has good music

On the first 3 chapters i can feel the forbidden borderline played in the background

Surprisingly its just like the anime. The flows of the story and the dialogue its all same. The art style is superb, rly gud. I kinda prefer they drawn like this, especially mikumo and makina.

Well, truthfully the macross series is known for the mix of idols and mechas. So macross is not macross without music (it become robotech). However for me, this manga is acceptable. I cannot call it weird or too much since as far as i know the concept of macross itself (defeating enemy with music) is a thing since its earlier series (macross superfortess). The manga is gud, but i recommend you to watch the anime first because the music are RLY GUD.
