Really loved that the flashbacks revealed that these two were closer than initially thought, and that panel of her having fallen asleep while he worked was bittersweetly beautiful. I have a sinking feeling that this isn't going to stay as cozy and realistic as it started off, if you introduce a successful artist who's his biggest fan and make it so he's always been super talented. Shame, because I was really enjoying that part of it.

I think it was shown earlier that they've had a close relationship when she says she used to help out or watch him draw back in school, I might have to double check but I'm almost certain this was the case

Also I disagree about this being comfortable/satisfying unrequired love. It is less tense than others yeah and I am happy about that, but I'm sure there'll be some not quite comfortable feels around how they could've ended up together back then and helped each other before things went south... aaand also she was married. There's no way neither of them has any feels about that and I feel like there is some regret already about not realizing what was between them in the past.

I'm enjoying the art and finding out the lore between the gyaru and mc but I don't really like this dude like at all, he acts like such a virgin at times to where it's off putting, he was fine this chapter though.

That being said I don't think we saw the same comments, that one guy's arguing with everyone claiming she's a slut because she's pursuing the mc or that she's moving on from her dead husband 💀

Yeah, I have no idea where this plot is headed after only 3 chapters, especially because Tsubaki is still 99% mystery. For all I know the flashbacks will tell the story of the two falling in love with each other only for some gut-wrenching tragedy to tear them apart.

But. I think it's possible for two people to be attracted to one another, compatible, and have a really important, friend-like relationship whose feelings grow into something you could describe as "non-romantic love" without either of them feeling one-sidedly "friend-zoned" (kinda hate that term but it gets the job done.) And I think that even if they could both imagine an alternate timeline where they wound up together, they would both tell you they had no regrets with how things played out.

And I think the story so far doesn't exclude the possibility of that kind of relationship, which is waaay more than I can say about most other manga! That's kinda what I meant by a comfortable/satisfying mutually-unrequited love. You have chemistry and find each other attractive, care deeply for one another, and your relationship might be intimate in a way that looks romantic from the outside, but at the end of the day, neither of you was sleepless in the middle of the night, clutching your chest in agony, pining for the other or some other melodramatic bullshit.

You can have feelings about something without it being a regret you'd give up the present to go back and change. And so far it's not obvious that being together romantically would have resulted in better outcomes for either - what you need from a relationship, and what you're equipped to help your parter through, can be very different in high school versus young adulthood.

No it's fine I get it. I didn't mean tension in the usual sense of how it goes in the usual rom com mangas anyways. I just feel a little bit conflicted about their situation (alongside also some feelings of comfyness about them two though) and think maybe thats sort of the point. But you're right, with how unclear she is as a character this is all just speculation and could go either way
