I really wanted to like this series, but it became pretty obvious that for whatever reason it wasn't going to commit all the way to the fanservice. Like I honestly think it should have either dropped the fanservice and focused all on the action or really gone extreme with the fanservice instead. There's people for whom fanservice is a deal breaker who'd never read this as a result, and people looking for more intense fanservice like what the darker themes imply aren't going to be satisfied.
I think the pacing is also an issue. The sushi chef fight and now the fight with these two brothers aren't nearly interesting enough to justify being as long as they were. And with the pacing getting dragged out, not much fanservice, and not particularly inventive or exciting action scenes, I can see why this series wasn't able to go the distance.
The mangaka has a ton of potential, though. I think they need to refine their art and especially their writing further, get a clearer image of what they want to depict, and then commit to it all the way. Hopefully their next manga will be a hit.
