Sorry it took a while for this chapter to come out, but to be honest I was quite disappointed in it so didn't want to work on it much (lovely art, as ever, aside).

Nothing about the cold case investigation makes sense in terms of the amount of evidence that has been previously missed - three years in an orphanage (never mind that Emma losing custody of Linoa currently makes absolutely zero sense which I find very distracting) and no-one ever saw the honking great scars on Linoa's back? What is this "evidence" that Turk refers to that proves Linoa's father inflicted them? A good cold case story works because there's something that hasn't previously been explored from the evidence that was already on hand, but the fact that this case seems to revolve around gross incompetency rather than a cover up or minutiae really takes me out of it.

And of course Linoa's temporarily unable to speak so she can't tell anyone what really happened.

What I've enjoyed about the series so far has been Théo and Pete, really, and they have almost no involvement in this chapter at all (ridiculous piggyback sequence aside), which perhaps blunts my enjoyment of it. Only one volume left, though, and I know they get more page time there.
